Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs large
My husband was on the hunt for a light-weight puffy jacket to brave the Utah cold - one he could wear outside and inside with warmth but little bulk. He has a more athletic physique and had the hardest time finding a coat to fit him without being too tight on his chest/arms, and too loose around his mid-section. He fell in love with the North Face Quince - but we found the medium ran small, and the large seemed to run a size too large. We tried the Kuhl Spyfire because it was a more athletic fit, but that too ran too small in Med. but too baggy in the mid section in the Large. Finally, we found the North Face therma ball! This one is what they call, ACTIVE FIT/Athletic fit - which means it is cut to fit more snug to the body, but also thin enough to be layered. The large was too bulky, the medium was just right - with some room to spare. It does seem to run a bit large like other customers have noted. He loves it so much he will probably get another color - he got the conquer blue and has got a lot of compliments.
