Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these to replace my pontas.....didnt realize how badly the old ones had worn down til I tried these out... like glue. on everything. overhangs, cracks, heel hooks. all great. the toe bump takes a few days to get used to, but I love it, just makes the shoe fit better!!

I got this at a large discount from the outdoor store I work at. I have used it all over Colorado and Wyoming, including a very windy day on the grand...did not let me down!! lately there is quite a bit of delay when flipping through the features so a new battery is in my very near future.

the fill power has nothing to do with the warmth of the jacket! I work for an outdoor retailer and its surprising to see how many people want jackets that are 800 or 900 because they are "warmer" look, the fill power is the size of the individual pieces of down in the jacket. the north face nuptse, or even the shaffle is a 700. the north face micro thunder or the patagonia down sweaters are 800. do you really think that is going to keep you warmer than this shaffle?? it wont, I promise.

I like this jacket for mild weather days, or as a midlayer when the weather really starts up.. the fit is great overall. a bit snug in the forearms but I like that, it keeps the jacket in place. monkey thumbs are nice as well as long as they are used over gloves...under gloves they bunch on the hand and feel uncomfortable
