Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought this bag as an alternative to the Patagonia black hole duffel. I have the blue one in the large size. I wanted a somewhat water resistant bag because i'll be traveling with a bunch of people in a car full of wet kayak gear in Chile for a month, and I want dry socks and a dry sleeping bag. So far I have tested it out on the wetest Moab trip ever (tent with inches of rain in it and an evac from canyonlands) and my stuff stayed dry. I also have it on a PNW trip now and it's doing the trick.
The only thing that is kind of funky about it is the lack of plastic fastex buckles. It has these metal loop closures that are a pain, especially when it comes to the backpack straps (those are nice though!). I'm thinking I might pick up some 1" fastex buckles and try replacing the metal closures.
Otherwise, the bag seems well made in general and is big enough for a long trip. I like the small zipper pockets on either side and the big zipper container inside.
