I bought an earlier version of this jacket in 2007. It went with me on bike trips from Greece to Maine but finally gave out. I'm hard on zippers and just caught it on something and ripped it out. Ordered a new version right away. It arrived a couple of weeks ago and it is even better than the original. Fabric is softer and is more breathable. The yellow is truly screaming with lots of reflective bits. I love it. It looks great and the cut is perfect. Not too large and not so form fitting that I can't layer appropriately underneath. This really is a piece that anyone who rides in cooler to cold weather should not do without. Lots of pockets and love, love, love the zip off sleeves. I wear this when the temps are between 40-60. Good for drizzly conditions, too.

These are great shorts. I just got back from a week long, challenging ride in Maine and these shorts were by far my favorite. They run slightly small; the medium was just a wee tight, so I exchanged for the large, which was a wee large, thus the 'almost perfect' comment. I still love the shorts and recommend them. They have a higher waist, which I find more comfortable and I like all the panels. They kept me cool and comfortable on even the most challenging climbs. Worth the price, for sure.

These just arrived and I liked everything about them, except that they were a tad too small. Not an entire size, but I was afraid the waist would stretch out eventually and also, the bands on the legs were just tight enough that I worried about comfort on a long ride. I have exchanged them for larges and will see how those work out. But the quality of these shorts is really high and I'm looking forward to getting a pair that hopefully fits.

I bought this after sending back the Giordana Silverline. This Gore is just what I wanted and then some. I wear it more as a jersey than a jacket - with just a base layer under. It is comfortable and gets me through those rides that start at 35 and warm up into the 50s. I really like that as the temps and my exertion climb, I can zip off the sleeves and have a short sleeve jersey. The overall cut of the jacket is lovely, the fabric is comfortable and in general, I think the quality is high. I like that the cuffs aren't elastic. If I could improve one thing on this jacket, it would be the length in back - a wee bit more coverage would be nice. I'm wondering if a taller person (I'm 5'1") would find it too short?

Ok - I tend to jump to conclusions with my reviews and offer my thoughts before I've put some miles on the gear. Then I have to follow up if my opinion changes. So be it. I just received these tights. They are really comfy and I can tell they are going to keep me warm when the temps dip under 50. I also really like that they are windproof with nice fabric that isn't too stiff. I'm a medium in Pearl Izumi, but in Castelli I tend toward a large. The fit isn't as attractive as the PI Elite Thermals that unfortunately just blew out on me. The rise seems a little short on these and the chamois is a little wide, which certainly gives one the wearing a diaper look/feel. On the positive side, these aren't as long as the PIs, so I don't have to scrunch them up as much. Overall, these seem very well made, and like I said, are really comfy. Will let you know more after I put some miles on 'em.

I really enjoyed these tights. I'm using the past tense because I just blew them out this last weekend on a long, challenging ride. Must have happened after the halfway break point - so at least I only embarrassed myself for the home stretch. Ugh. I only wore these maybe 6 times, maybe less, so I'm pretty unhappy that they didn't last.

If you've read any of my other reviews you will find a theme. I am a mature rider who is active and fit, but not athletically built. That means close-fitting, clingy fabrics and slim cuts don't work well. I ordered a larger size in this, but it still didn't work for me - I'm not interested in sporting a bit of belly bulge - especially in white slightly see-thru fabric.

At first I really thought I loved this jersey and I gave it a great rating in my first review. The cut is fine and it is really attractive and flattering. And it kept me warm on a cold New Year's Day ride. But it is NOT comfortable. The fabric is bulky, stiff and restrictive. I gave it three stars because it is serviceable, but I won't look forward to wearing it so ignore my previous comment.

I'm writing this now in Nov, 10 months after the first post. I've now ridden in this several times this fall and find it more comfortable than the first few times I wore it. I works well, and it is more pliable (perhaps it just needed several washings?). Still not my favorite, but I like it much more than previously.
