I'm on pair #3, and these are my favorite hiking/backpacking shorts.
RocketDry is legit--these things dry as fast as the Ex Officio Give and Go Boxer.
Nice and lightweight, these shorts offer better coverage than Patagonia's Baggies(magnum PI shorts).
Internal webbing belt and crotch gusset are just as cool as they were back in '91.

I've had ~5 of these hats in the past several years, and it keeps getting better.
Only gripe is that the difference between the M and L is huge.
M constricts my head, and L is loose enough to fly off in a gust.
Even a little loose, this hat is still my go-to for hiking and backpacking.

These shades are even better than my old favorites--the Action Optics Ambush.
Great coverage, and the amber poly lens is as crisp/clear as it gets.
These are my first pair of Costas and they put Kaenon, Oakley, Smith and the rest to shame.

No blisters. Ever.
From backpacking with heavy loads to kicking around camp w/o socks on, I'm shocked at how well these shoes support my feet.
When i first saw the 'liner sock' I thought it was gimmicky, but 4 backpacking trips(everything from really wet and cold to dry and hot) later with ZERO hot spots--the sock liner is genius.
When completely saturated, the shoes dried in ~3 hours of sitting in direct sunlight, and 1 hour of dry hiking.
The support is killer, and these shoes are an ideal balance of weight and support.
Rubber is confidence inspiring on all surfaces--dry or wet.

If you backpack a lot, and haven't been using these eVent compression sacks, you're seriously missing out.
Beyond keeping gear dry, and compact in your pack, this thing can double as a water-proof bear bag.
Its also the best pillow solution i've found on the trail. Don't buy a pillow, just stuff this sucker full of all your clothes, and you're stoked.
The ultra-sil version is noticeably lighter than the standard eVent version.

I've been tearing through merino hikers for years, and these Darn Tough's are the first pair of socks that haven't gone into the garbage the day i return from a long backpacking trip.

Ideal medium-ish cushion on the sole, but light and thin up top to prevent overheating.

No blisters on my entire trip--i've yet to experience sock quality on this level.

Love these bibs for storm days. The Bombshell material is really lightweight and un-restrictive, and despite initial concerns about the fabric’s durability due to fact that they’re so lightweight, they’ve proven tough enough for shrubs, ski edges, and other pant-tearing nasties. The removable bib does a great job of sealing out the elements on deep days, and the Bombshell breathes surprisingly well—never ever approached overheating. Also, the bright orange makes it nearly impossible for touring partners to lose sight of you.

The Salomon Women’s Lady Ski’s voluptuous figure turns heads and slays white dragons from summit to base in an impressive variety of conditions. And, of course, in regal style. Since every mountain mistress knows a fat ski is only as good as its carve, Salomon gave the Lady Ski a generous rockered tip for flotation and a 85mm waist that lives to turn.

When Cody Townsend calls the Salomon El Dictator Ski 'teenager-at-a-strip-club stiff,' you can be sure it's no noodle. He ought to know, because he and cult freeski legend Kaj Zackrisson designed it to be. Their goal was a big-mountain expert's dream ski: big, fast, and burly, but incorporating all the recent design innovations that make powder skiing a pleasure, not a chore. The result is El Dictator, a flat-tailed, wood-cored charger with just enough tip rocker to pull you up from the depths of a 60-footer's bombhole. In a market trending toward forgiveness and all-mountain versatility, few skis stand apart to represent the old school. This is one of them.

Being the genetically-superior golden child of the fatty-fat-ski family tree, the Liberty Genome Ski glides on pow and whittles the hardpack like his brothers and sisters can only dream about. This full-tip fatty with rockered tips and tails lets you float the fluff, yet features sufficient sidecut to keep you from skidding down the groomers like a chump. So take the Genome out and float your switch cork 9 into a deep bed of sweet confection to see why this kid was mom and dad’s favorite.

The fully-rockered, limited release, Eric Hjorleifson pro model 4FRNT Renegade Ski doesn’t have any Facebook friends, but it sure-as-shit knows how to impress at high altitude. This fully wood-cored ski likes the deeps, and the steeps, and it likes them fast and hard. A full maple core offers stability as you slash and slarve, and the sintered 2000 base stands up to whatever abuse you can put it through. The fully-rockered, limited release, Eric Hjorleifson pro model 4FRNT Renegade Ski doesn’t have any Facebook friends, but it sure-as-shit knows how to impress at high altitude.
