Best overall/looking technical shell imo

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs large

I am 5'10 160 lbs. with a sleeve length of 30 and a chest measurement (with a t-shirt on) of 39.. I got the Medium..It fits perfectly..These definitely run large..This thing is better than my old Arc'teryx sidewinder...seriously.. My only beef is the wrist gaiters are not perfect, so I might cut them out. This jacket is so well made took it out on a snowshoe mission in the RimRocks of Billings MT. We ae getting sustained 30+ mph winds and it's a little chilly.. I wore a t-shirt with a wool Pendleton (the original wicking shirt) beneath and it was perfect..I actually got a little warm so I opened the pit zips..I bought this jacket as my go to utilitarian jacket for my outdoor activities.. I did not think it would be too stylish but I was wrong..The length is nice and long and the sleeves are not nearly as bulky as i expected after hearing other reviews..I am definitely wearing this downtown..I have had this thing for two days and I already had a random stranger ask me where i got it and i told him backcountry.com. If you are about my build I would highly suggest the medium..If the jacket was any larger it would be too large..Get this jacket. The price is unbelievable!! If there were other colors I would have purchased 2...One more thing that is great; the arms are just long enough so when you reach or use a full range of arm movement it does not pull..It accomplishes this feat without the arms being too long...sweet!!!

At first I was bummed that it didn't have a red filter. I like to have a red filter as to not annoy my co-workers in the field. This thing is super bright. What I really enjoy about it is the range of the dimmers. It goes from a primal scream to a soft whisper.....I dig it!!

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Since I sent my 0 mummy bag back to northface for repairs I decided I should probably get a spring bag in case fire season starts early. One thing about this bag ITS BIG ( as I had expected). Being that it will be in my PG bag and I don't have to hike around with it this is not a problem...tried this out on a 27 degree night with a sea to summit silk liner....I was toasty. This is my luxury bag it is so comfortable and has so much room to move. If weight and compression size is not an issue for you this is a great bag. Recreational camping, weekend hike or fire camp use is def legit. get it,i got it,its good.

Paired this with my Marmot spring bag on a cold night..Kept toasty..The real advantage of this thang for me is how it will extend the life of your sleeping bag...I can marinate in my bag at fire camp on a fourteen day roll and just wash the liner (maybe) when i get home...Also, it is easy to wash in a sink or a stream. The only small issue I had was static...starched it a little and problem solved. OOOoo, dats soft!!

Best shoes I have ever owned. I will now be collecting the glove series to see which ones i like the best to suit my needs. Somehow I feel these will not be topped. Used to run in Brooks shoes...Sized down by .5..Fit perfect Although I think keeping the same size would be fine as well. HUGE toebox which is great for me cause I gotta fat splay..I use them when I weight train in the gym, for tabatas, on the tread mill, and a little bit on the roads. Cannot wait to wind sprint in the grass when the snow melts here in MT..best ever..Backcountry your cust. service is the best....If you read this whole review::good on ya'...wish i could wear them on fire.....

Update
getting used to this shoe takes a little bit when you come from a trad shoe. I found that a lot of uphill drills worked for me as you are pretty much force to run on your toes and mid foot. Used a tread mill and decreased incline until I was at 0. Helped a lot. Buy this shoe!!!
