Joseph's Bio

lived in Canada in the early '70's and hitch-hiked from Nova Scotia to Vancouver with no money, staying at the free camp in Jasper , Alberta back when there were free camps, for a summer. Came to Atlanta and started doing lawn-maintenance-to be close to nature and stay active. Got into technical-wear about 1998 or so-I have 15 North Face Rain Jackets, including the very popular "Search and Rescue" Jacket. After retiring from the "purchasing technical wear" business in 2003, I decided to update my stuff after losing 20 lbs and needing a slimmer fit with my clothes. I seem to have gravitated to Mountain Wear and Arteryc as North Face main streamed it's product line after being sold

If the stretch and size is similar to the rho LTW, I would say that medium is good for next to the skin 1st layer wear and large would be better for 2nd layer wear. I am 6' 6" with very similar measurements. You have a large waist, large shoulders, medium hips. The stretch would make the medium very wearable. I have 3 medium rho ltw's and 1 large

I bought a medium vest due to it being sold at half-price. Since I, usually wear large, I was surprised how much room there was in the fit. I'm 6'6"-185 lbs. with 41 in. chest. Wearing it over a couple of thermal long sleeved underwear leaves me with a pretty good fit, not too tight around the neck.Good for layering your core, but the lack of technical features, such as hem chord cinches, banishes this vest to casual use as outerwear.

nice pants but not as good a fit for me as the the "relaxed fit" Rampart pants. I'm 6'6"-185lbs and the 34 waist Ramparts are cut longer and I have total freedom of movement with them, whereas the size 34 Palisades are minorly constricting-probably should have upped to a 36-long, and it'd have worked better. Very thin pants which is good for keeping cool but they will easily tear. This is true for the Rampart as well. Good travel pants, not so good for hiking a lot in rough areas
edit: I have had these pants for 6 months now and I've really come to like them. At work I get in unusual physical positions sometimes and with other pants I have riden down the road 5 miles only to realize that my wallet fell out of my back pocket. Never a worry with these pants, but to be honest, I work out at the gym in these pants mostly, love them!!!
