Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shoes are the greatest. Feels like walking on air. The only problem is how stupid and ugly they look. Get over it, because they are great. Hoka needs some marketing/design help because I am now trying to order my second pair and they have gotten even uglier. Putting the name on the side for brand recognition was a good idea in a conference room, but not in reality. The choices are more hideous than ever, not to mention the fact that the high sole makes them look like "special" shoes.

Looking at Western Mountaineering's website, the weights listed on this description are very wrong. I can't rate since I did not buy, but I picked 5 stars as default.

DISPOSABLE

I have owned 3 pairs. The old pair lasted 20 years. The 2 new pairs I have leaked on the first day (bubbles blown through seams). Additionally the rubber breaks down very quickly when they are used. Living in Alta at 8500 feet they get lots of use, but the first pair that was made in Canada lasted and the new pairs are DISPOSABLE. I would not recommend these unless they are being purchased purely for fashion.
