3 5

Well, I'm not a 8 grade climber, I'm around 6-7, this is just my opinion, just hoping this helps some.

Solutions are great shoes.
It's solid, very solid.
These work great on small edges.

On slab, I needed more friction on surface side rubber but they won't work that way. It's nearly impossible to smear.
Actually it'd be possible if I go one full size up, but then it sacrifices edging I guess...
The thing is most of 6-7 grade problems are not overhang so Solutions are not for mid-level climbers IMHO.
Miuras(not VS version) are better for me for now.

Not too heavy
5 5

I got R3 from BC a couple of weeks ago and used it last weekend.
My impression is it's not too heavy even wrapping other small pad and ground sheet, etc. in it. Not sure they changed materials though.
It's very useful on uneven ground. That's the point.
I also have MadPad, they complement each other.

Hi Dave, Thank you for your info. I think you are right though I've already got us9. It's very tight... I tried to find comfortable way and found that there are two insoles in each boot, I took upper one out and after then they fit better like monolith. It was a bit cold when I stopped while hiking but better fit overall.
I'm not sure if they are installed for purpose or I got double insoles by accident though. The upper one seems same as monlith's, lower one seems with adiabator.
