Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
We all know about the Mountain Hardware Absolute Zero and the North Face Himalayan Down Jacket, but any give the Western Mountaineering SnoJack Parka a chance? I did. After purchasing most of their line up of sleeping bags and other down garments, I gave into my instinct and purchased one of these babies. What makes this Jacket so good?!?! Aside from the fact that it is hand made in San Jose, CA and the fact it is coming from an extremely credible quality down company, it simply outperforms its competition in comfort, craftsmanship, and performance. Starting with comfort, the SnoJack Parka was originally design with the intention of being a much more flexible expedition jacket without the sacrificing the warmth. You are able to move your entire arm in any direction and the sleeve will not pull itself up with is very nice. It is made of 850 fill down and gore windstopper with an extremely water repellent outer shell. It also have numerous easy to access pockets and a notch in the collar for you mouth to let allow you to breath outside your jacket and makes talking much easier.
Everyone has different preferences but I strongly feel like if you have tried the North Face and Mountain Hardwares down garments as I have you will notice much more value and have much more pride in owning a piece of WM gear. Pricy it is but well worth it.
I am almost 6' tall, athletic fit, 175lbs. I fit in the large and medium but purchased the large because I like to layer up in the winter. If you want more of a fitted feel purchase the Medium if you are around my size.
I hope this helps!!!!
