Familiarity: I've used it several times
I returned the Eddie Bauer long coat in favor of this one, and I am generally glad I did. The zipper goes down much farther than any of the other makes of long coats and really keeps the cold and wind out. The hood is great, although I didn't expect to like it. With other coats, the hood comes so far over my face that I can't see. This one slips up when you need it and down into a shawl collar when not needed--very neat. I didn't have a problem closing the neck of the coat; maybe that has improved since some of the reviews. It is extremely stylish, though very long; so anyone shorter than my 5'6" may find it cumbersome--I have to hold it up when climbing steps. It is very good looking, light and fits well (I am 138 lbs and got a large). I have only two problems with it. First, there are not enough pockets--true for many women's coats. This could really benefit from an additional outside or inside breast pocket. My biggest objection, however, is that there are no inner cuffs for the sleeves, nor do they cinch down in any way. This means that without long sweater sleeves or long gloves, you will feel the cold come in through the sleeve cuffs. An interior hidden cuff would make this coat almost perfect---I may have to add some.
