I'll expose my lack of expertise here (c'est la vie...!): What do people usually wear under their splash pants... (No, this isn't a trick question) =:o)
These are one of the few shoes I have that I can wear my Injinji's with...!
My experience was similar to reviewer Bryan Bennett re: draft tube, in that I have the same complaint about the lack of a draft tube, but I found, unlike Bryan, that it was a pretty big deal: when I moved around at all cold air flowed freely into the bag.
How much does this puppy weigh?
Patagonia really has a leg-up over the competition when it comes to functional clothing. The drawstring adjustment for the hood on this jacket is beyond clever. Rather than adjusting from the chin area, the shock-cord is pulled from inside the jacket pockets! The fit of the hood is really great too: it conforms nicely to the helmet when wearing one.
I really like the solo cook set, but enlarging the cup so it nestled down over the bottom pot would make it easier to pack and more compact. If the handles would stay in their "open" position instead of swinging freely, it would be easier to manipulate, esp. with gloved hands. Still a great product.
Be aware: this windscreen will only work with the gigapower stove. I have a Northern Lights, and the pot supports are different.
Despite the claim in the most recent issue of Climbing magazine regarding wearing shorts over long underwear in the mountains as being a serious fashion faux pas, I found this a wonderful combination on a recent foray up Rincon Peak in AZ: Excellent in every regard as with most Pattie-Goniac clothing.
