Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are my go to shades for mountain biking. Given the majority of my riding happens in the Bay Area, conditions are constantly changing from foggy to sunny, from shady to super sunny from coastal trails, to 'rancho to Mt. Tam and I need protection, clarity and functionality- Oakley nailed it with these! I'm a large-sized dude and the fit is spot and overall feel is lightweight.

I have the polished black polarized/persimmon lenses and I am super stoked with the first 300 miles and I see picking up a pair of clear lenses for night riding in the near future.

Lastly, protective case and stash bag will keep these safe, snug and clean.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I returned this package immediately after transceiver failed during Day 3 AIARE Level I course companion rescue simulation. As I began the rescue, my initial signal search indicated a target burial in which I was able to pinpoint within 1m grid. As my partner began probing, my transceiver, spiked and went dead. It was at that point, our instructor/guide approached and told us that he had not buried a beacon in the location in which we were probing. Not cool and not something you want to hear when you are trying to save lives. I will not buy another, may invest in bigger brother Baryvox pulse as is has received some solid subjective reviews.

Shovel is a work horse and on the big side; some challenges with getting it out of front pocket of Dakine HeliPro DLX 20L. Handle and length are a plus for someone my size at 6'2" I plan to invest in another once I receive my refund.

Probe works well, my only concern is that is requires screwing washer down to ensure a secure lock which means a couple extra wasted moments when trying to perform an efficient rescue. Will not repurchase probe.

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles
5 5

This goggles are my favorite pair that I have owned & I am a gear head. I spend 40-50 days riding per season. From the user friendliness to change the lenses in less than 20 seconds, to the clarity both lenses have to offer, to the fit, to the steeze, I am stoked on these badboys. I would recommend these to anyone who is better than any pro out there. Look good ride better!
