This jacket is by far one of my favorite pieces by Patagonia. Its already one several awards and will definitly go down as a must have in any outdoorsman kit. I own several Patagonia jackets and this one seems to be the one I grab most. Its incredibly lightweight but just as warm as a beefy down jacket. I mainly use this piece on long multi pitch climbs, but hiking and exploring works great too. Patagonia's tag line for this jacket is "Put it on, Leave it on" This for sure rings true. Once its on you can have the flexibility to climb and move around in, have the jacket breath, but still keep you warm when the weather picks up. I did a ton of comparing to this and the arcteryx atom. Both are great jackets but in my opinion this one will hold up longer and has a few small details that makes this one win in my opinion. For those who don't own Patagonia the sizing can be tricky. I typically wear a large in most clothing. However, I almost aways wear a medium in Patagonia. They're clothes seem to run a little big. The same can be said about my wife when wearing Patagonia. She is typically a small and needs an xs in all Patagonia.
Cant say enough good about this jacket. A bit on the pricy side, however most jackets this type run around a similar price. Im a strong believer in purchasing quality the first time so it lasts a lifetime.
