Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm new to downhilling, so I don't look overly radical on the hill. So I bought this thinking I should at least look radical when lugging DH bikes around in my 05 Frontier. It worked. I look freaken sweet.

I went with the size large because it was on sale and the medium was sold out. It is definitely a touch too big for my truck, but that's my fault. I've been able to make it work, but because it's too big, access to the tailgate handle is slightly off, and every once in a while it gets caught in the hinges when I close my tailgate. If you've got a tacoma or frontier, go with the medium.

But otherwise it does what it's supposed to.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

I know. Bold claim. But I've probably gotten more use out of this jacket than any other gear. I bought it 3 years ago for backcountry ski days, and have used it pretty much every day since on my bike commute in San Francisco as well.

It breaths incredibly well, deals with light rain (although if it dumps you're getting wet, that's not what this shell is for), and fits great. It's also bomb proof. I'm known for tomahawking about once every 4 runs, and this jacket has held up through some vicious wipe outs.

It's a really versatile piece. If you're in the market for a soft shell, this is your answer. I'm 5'7", 140lbs and the small fits like a glove.

I'm pretty disappointed in these gloves. The palms are stiff and rigid, and the fit isn't great. I ride constantly so I was shocked when I spent a day downhilling at Northstar, and by mid day I had huge blisters all over my hands (pictured with hipster filter for effect). Granted that might be due to the fact that I was white knuckle death gripping my way down the mountain, but I was the only one in my crew who had this happen. Maybe I just have dainty paws.

Go get yourself a pair of Giro Xen's. Same price point, breath really well, and I've beat up a pair for a year and a half and they are still kicking.

I got this thing a few weeks ago, so it might be a bit over zealous to already give it 5 stars... but this thing is bonkers. I put it through its paces already on a 22 hour epic in Red Rocks Nevada. Ended up having to rappel 1500ft in the dark in the desert after a full day of climbing, and I'm pretty sure I woulda freaked out if I wasnt so god damn cozy in my down sweater.

This thing packs down to nothing, and weighs nothing, so when my minamilst buddy was giving me sh!t about my pack weight for a multipitch climb, i told him to go sh!t in his hat. The jacket stays... and thank the sweet baby J... as soon as the sun dipped so did the temps. and thats precisely when our rope got snagged in a crack. I pull the jacketo out of her stuff sac/ pocketo and zipper her up. Through the hood on under my hemlet and was toasty.

that and chicks totes dig it.
