Have heard these ski short. I usually ski 170's but picked up a pair of 181 Access. I'm 5'9'', 140 lbs, intermediate/advanced skier, 70% side/slack country,20% resort, 10% glades. Have not mounted these yet...worried they might be too long. Any comments or experience with these skis would be helpful. I ski an AT setup, btw.

I have used these in the past and been very happy on all accounts. Cushioning, stability, and durability were great. Fast forward and Montrail/Columbia have messed these up just like their shoes. I used these right out of the box for a marathon and one week later for a 20k trail race. After using twice they compressed to the point of being worthless. Thirty-nine bucks wasted. Should've just spent a little more and bought a new pair of shoes.

Just ordered Spirit 4's in a 24.5 and the shell fit seems right but am wondering about the liners. They are snug with no space between the liner and my toes but they don't feel like they're squeezing my feet. Will heat molding shrink the liner or just contour to my foot? Do I need to exchange for 25's to get the bigger liner? Also, can anyone recommend a bootfitter in SLC area to heat mold these and possibly work on the shells in case I experience some of the fit problems w/Scarpas? I had a pair of Denali's that I sold because by the end of the day I felt like I had been walking on tennis balls. Want a good backcountry boot so I am willing to have these worked on if need be. Thanks for the heip...
