Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these poles for a year hiking the Finger Lakes Trail and the North Country Trail and they have broken twice. Aluminum just won't hold if you trip and put weight on it. On the flip side I've had BD fixed length carbon ski poles for 3 years that i love and are still going strong.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

have worn this hiking the finger lakes trail in the rain and stayed totally dry. fit is a liitle tight in the arm pits (ie athletic) but works well when carrying a pack. long sleeves let you pull your hands in yo stay dry and under arm vents help to stay cool. velcro on wrists is as useless as everyone says but over all very happy with this purchase

Use these poles three to four times a week as a mountain host w/ NSP at Holiday Valley, NY. Nice weight and super durable, have stood up to any thing i have thrown at it so far. Love the wishbone style strap which is easy to get in and out of and quickly slides over my skis at accident scenes. Grips are great and come in handy for lowering the bar on the chair (!!). Don't know about slapping poles with my bros though.....
