Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these as a gift for my 7 & 9 year old cousins visiting from Germany. They used them on our hikes in the Uinta Mountains and on their outings around town. I didn't realize that they came with a whistle. The kids found it and used it frequently so we knew where they were at all times. They fit them well and were able to hold all of the rocks and other treasures that they found.

I maybe had my eye on this pack for a few months before someone finally noticed and gifted it to me! I LOVE THIS PACK. It's perfect for weekend trips (camping, backpacking, or otherwise) or as a carry-on bag for longer trips. I had it packed for an overnight down the Narrows before we were flooded out, but it was incredibly easy to access everything I needed to rearrange my pack for a camping trip instead. I am not a fan of the zero-gravity packs from Osprey and was nervous about a different Osprey pack, but this one fit like a glove. I highly recommend this pack, but that also might be because the black/blue coloring is gorgeous.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My mom got sick of me using her sleeping pads, so she got this for me as a gift. So far, I love it! The bright color will make sure you never lose it and despite the rough ground it has protected me from, I haven't had any leaks. It's incredibly easy to inflate and doesn't take long (even though the pad is 4") and I LOVE the quick deflate functionality. This pad is incredibly light and packs down nice and small. My only complaint is that it is a bit louder than I would have liked, but it is far from the loudest sleeping pad I have ever used. I have only used this in warm climates, so I can't speak to its warmth.

I have the regular Eddy water bottle and loved it, but the ice melted way to fast, so I bought the insulated Eddy. It is great to not have the condensation on the outside of the bottle. It doesn't keep my drinks as cold as my Hydro Flask bottles, but the mouthpiece for drinking is more convenient on the Camelbak.

My daughter is only 5'3" so finding a pack that will fit her short torso is a challenge. She said that the pack is incredibly comfortable and fits a good amount. There are a few pouches that zip within the bag, which were helpful for a canyoneering trip I went on. Also used it all around New Zealand and Australia - and it worked fantastically!

This is my 4th purchase of a Big Agnes Encampment. (My husband and I bought ours, and now the kids think that they need one also.) I love the fact that the Big Agnes sleeping pad and bag are designed to work together. You don’t slip off your pad at night, even if you roll around in your sleep. The bag is well designed with baffles that keep the cold out at the neck and along the zip. I have used this bag alone for Winter Camping when night time temperatures were around freezing and with a liner when temperatures were closer to Zero at night. It has always kept me warm. It stuffs down nicely and I love the storage sack that comes with the bag to help the bag keep its loft.

I have had this pack for well over a month now and it has gone on adventures from all day hikes in Zion's to water-soaked theme park rides, and short hikes with wind, rain, and lightning. The pack has held up incredibly well. I love the organiation and cargo pockets. This pack is perfect for people with a XS or S torso length. My only complaint is that the shoulders are a tad bit narrower than I would like. I have had multiple family members try this pack and now they want one! So, we'll be getting a second soon.

"This pack is great for taller and bigger guys. The chest strap can be at my 6'6" husband's chest and not his throat. It can also fit my 5'5" frame which makes this pack great! The harness straps while super soft seem really hot and not very breathable. Overall I really like this pack!"
