I've taken this up for 5 days this season after buying it three weeks ago. I'm really new to snowboarding, so I'm not going to be the best judge of it, but I like it. That being said, the only other thing I've ridden is a rental burton LTR. The Deuce is much lighter, much more stable at higher speeds, and a heck lot more flexible. This took awhile to get used to, but I'm guessing it's an appropriate board for my post-beginner board ownership.
I put two days on this boot and maybe it's me, but I was in unbearable pain by the end of day 2. They were tight in all the wrong places, and despite the pain, my feet were coming out of the boots every time I tried to make an aggressive turn. These were also the same boots that I tried on the first time I ever went snowboarding, and they also left my feet in pain that time. Too bad I didn't recognize the boot and run away at first sight.
That being said, maybe they will work for you. I have wide feet and high arches, but had no problem fitting into burton 9.5 (shoe size 9.5) rentals.
I love this shirt. It keeps you warm but not too warm, blocks some wind, and doesn't itch. It really works. I wear them to work, on the trails as a first or second layer...anything. I would also definitely buy them at a discount if you can. Price aside, great shirt.
I'm contemplating returning this item even though I got it for a great price on SAC. Well, first off -- it's super thin. Not sure how well it will perform until the weather cools down a bit, but it does seem built to block wind.
The main thing that's annoying is the double-zipper design. It is always stuck when I'm trying to zip/unzip.
I wear 30x32 pants and neither the size s nor the size m would do it for me. I returned them in the end.
These pants are ultralight and they work well for hiking in lots of different conditions (rugged - despite the stretchiness of the material). When it rained, the feeling was kind of strange -- the raindrops felt cold, but there wasn't a sensation of wetness. Anyway, if they produced a size somewhere in between S and M, I'd buy it.
I got the Small and the Medium to try -- I am also 30x32 and I could not get either of them to fit correctly. The Small felt constricting, and the Medium was way too big at the waist and was a bit too flowy for my tastes. I loved the material though -- and I did try them out on a trip by wearing a belt. So yes - a belt would work, but it's annoying that the sizing is the way it is.
I want to love this jacket. It is very warm aside from letting in (and out) any sort of wind -- a great middle layer. However, this jacket just doesn't look right on its own. The fit is big/puffy in the arms with very wide shoulders. At the same time, the length of the arms and chest is appropriate to the sizing. I am about 5'10" 140lbs lean and the small has shoulders that are at least 2 inches too wide. Your mileage may vary heavily depending on your frame/build.
I wore this jacket on a two-day ski trip and it kept me really dry and warm. However, one of the zippers in the venting section got stuck on the mesh material there and the only way to get it unstuck was to rip part of the material -- very annoying since I now have a large hole in one of the venting sections.
The sizing is loose and relaxed. Also note that the jacket is fairly heavy due to all the zippers and magnets and the durable exterior material.
Aside from not having a fly/opening in them, these pants are a great base layer underneath shell pants! I wore them for 3 days during a Ski/Snow trip and they kept me warm but not overly hot while inside, outside, wherever.
Super comfy and well worth the price.
