I wasn't too sure about this coat when I bought it. I really wanted to buy an acteryx coat, but could not justify spending twice the $. I had never heard of "Flylow" before, but I have been very impressed with their commitment to quality, and making a coat that I feel like I can do anything in. This coat has changed the way I layer and prepare myself for spending a full day in the mountains. These guys really do spend time designing their products. The other mid layer coat and vest fit perfectly under the quantum and keep me toasty on the way down and well vented on the way up. Well Done team Flylow!
If you live in cold climate and want to ski the resort when it is below zero, walk the dog when it's -20, or ski in a base layer when it is 10 degrees, this is the coat for you. Has pit zips too if you get too hot. Great puffy coat that won't rip when you get attacked by a tree branch. No duck tape on the Ice Man coat.
Over the last few years I have seen Flylow gear everywhere; on the mountain, in BC, and walking down the street. I always liked the way it looked, and now I know what the hype is all about. The fit is good with plenty of room for layering. The fabric feels high tech and is a good weight for all year round. I was going to take out the powder skirt the other day since I'm not on the slopes yet, but it snaps to the coat when no it use and it is totally out of the way. I can see this coat serving me well in snow, as a rain coat, and good source of protection when climbing. Biggest bang for your buck!
What is the difference in MM? What size do i want?
