I am not a fan of minimalist shoes as I don't weigh 130 pounds or run on sand, so I thought I would give these a try. I don't love the look of the shoe (no big deal)or the speed laces so swapped them out for regular laces that were included (they were difficult to get into the holes). I loved these shoes the first time I put them on. I am a heel-midfoot striker and felt so much more natural running in these shoes. The cushioning is unbelievable and I am not nearly as tired or sore during or after a run. Landing on a jagged rock is no longer a painful experience. Keep your minimalist shoes, these are light weight, comfortable, protect your feet, and actually improved my running. They do run a little small.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I like Union suits as they are warm and keep the drafts out. I have a cotton-wool duafold that I like, but it is more for lounging than physical activity. The North Face is very well made. I was not used to all the zippers (versus buttons) and was hoping they wouldnt get cold. The garment was comfortable to wear. I am 6'1" 170lbs and ordered a medium. It was to tight, especially in the crotch. The legs were a bit short which may have been intentionally done for ski boots? In the end, I returned it as It is expensive and better suited as a very technical piece, not for daily skiing.

The rack rattles a great deal even when everything is tightened. I had to use paperclips and rubberbands to tighten things up. Yakima sent me an extra piece which didnt help. The rubber pieces, that hold the bike, slide around as well which can put pressure on the rubber ties. I had to use duct tape to prevent them from moving. it is very difficult to carry 4 bikes on this rack. This rack is easy to put together and take off although it does not come with a lock.

I have had the earlier version of these for about three years. They have been terrific and durable. The new version seems to have a few more updates, a bit lighter, better grip and a bit less cushioning. The shoes are best worn with a light sock or liner sock. They dry quicker than most ( a few hours in the sun ) and will not get soggy. I have not found anything as nice as these to use in and around the water, light hiking and around town.
