4 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 127 lbs
Size Purchased: 43

This looks like a great boot but I'm sad Scarpa doesn't seem to make half sizes. I wear a US 9.5, and I've gotten a EU 42.5 in other boots (which worked best for me). The 42 was too small. I loved the boot so much, I tried to make a 43 work with inserts and extra socks, but it was too big and made my knees hurt. My husband loves his Scarpa boots and I really wish I could find a size that would work for me. The 43 was kind of wonderful until day 2 when my knees started killing me. Took off the boots and knee problems vanished. But if you can get a size that works for you, seems like a good boot. Very attractive and light weight for summer hiking.

I loved these boots for the 1.5 years they didn't leak. I expected a better, more durable product for the price. After 1.5 years, the rubber around the toe separated from the boot. I'll get it repaired, but I expected better quality and more durability for the price. I wore them a lot, but for hiking, as expected. I didn't wade across knee deep creeks or anything. If you're looking for a good "short term" boot, they are great. But for the price of these, I expect something that will last and be reliable over a longer period. I agree with the reviewers who found durability lacking. .

I SO wanted these boots to work. They fit, they were attractive, they were comfortable except that they were so heavy that after wearing them, my hip and knees were killing me. THought maybe it was something else, but after wearing them several times and having to spend days icing my knees after each wear (something I don't usually have to do even after a 16 mile hike), I decided they just aren't working. Too bad, but it is like bricks on your feet. Supportive as all get out, and if your can carry the weight, they will carry you through really rough hiking, I'm sure, but they were killing me in the process of wearing them.
