Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs large

I wear these pants at least once a week. My complaint is that yes, the waist is small on the size M, but the size L is so much bigger in the waist, hips and legs. I wear a size 8-10 in pants, and found the M size too tight in the waist. However, the large is pretty big in the rear and in the legs. Still, I wear them because they are so dang warm and comfortable.

I have a couple of pairs of these pants, and find that the sizing varies widely even between sizes. I bought a size large (I regularly wear a size 10), and it's pretty big on me. I bought a size M and the waist was too tight. In the Large, I find that the butt and legs are pretty wide, but I'm pretty narrow hipped. However, I absolutely love these pants. They are the warmest, most comfortable pants I have and have even worn them x-country skiing. My one big complaint is that after one year, the seams in the back have started to unravel, leaving a hole where my bum is exposed.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I own both the North Face GTD tights and the Marmot Power stretch pants. The Marmot pants are warmer and more comfortable than my North Face tights. I wear them all the time, but have not had a chance to go x-country skiing in them, which is really why I bought them. The fit is just OK, as I find the waist a little snug and the legs a little wide. However, they are very comfortable overall. After I bought these for myself, I also bought them for a friend as well. Look forward to wearing all winter in New Mexico.
