Daniel's Bio

Love the combo of mountains, summer, and kids. Therefore, I love summer camp in the mountains. Started going at 8, started volunteering at 14, and started counseling it up at 18. Favorite local was a tepee at 9000 ft in Pikes Peak National Forest.

Love this thing. Wanted a lite, small watch that tells time, has a light for the night, and could handle water. This does all of those, plus has two pieces that stick out of the strap that "lock" the strap holder in position so it isn't always sliding off. I like that a lot. One other review said the watch changing settings automatically. Mine does not do this, but if you bump a button it could change from Time 1 to Time 2, or Time to Date very easily, which admittedly can be a touch annoying. But just hit the button again and it's back to where you had it.

I like this fleece a lot. I also have the 1/4 zip version, and the fleece material itself is exactly the same, but the full zip is better for several reasons. First there is a cord around the waist for improved fit and more warmth. Second this has 2 hand pockets and a chest pocket, the 1/4 zip none. Third there is more substance to the cuffs on this one. I think all in all that makes this jacket feel warmer. (In my opinion this also looks better.) I'm 6'1, 155 lbs. Got a Large, and it fits great. Doesn't block the wind or the rain, but great for layering and will keep you warm for a run or in the sun without strong winds. Very soft and comfortable.

The Roc pants are my favorite pants. They are comfortable and work in a variety of situations. The only negative is a given size doesn't always fit the same way (but isn't this true of many pants). For example I have a 34/32, 34/34, and 33/32. And I've had to return a 33/32 because it was both too short and too tight around the waist. Backcountry itself, of course has the best return policy anywhere. So if you are going to buy pants online, this is the place to do it.
