I just took off a pair of Mantras (size Small). I'm 5'8" 140 and wear a 30" waist in Levis, 31" length. These were loose on my waist (the adjustment tabs fixed this), and an inch or two too long. I'm planning on returning them, because they are too long for me. I found the Mantra to be really well made, with better (all zippered) and more pockets than The North Face Freedom pants, and a more articulated knee. There is some fleece over your butt, which will be much appreciated on the lift, and no insulation elsewhere. The 2 layers of fabric feel substantial though, and I don't think you'll get chilly in these very easily.
A couple more nit-picks in case the Marmot designers are listening: the gaiters are too small, and I don't real need back pockets when I've got 3 front pockets. The gaiters have 2 snaps and a section of velcro adding complexity to what I think would work better if it was just a simple tube with an elastic opening. These gaiters are tough to stretch over your boot.
There's not much I want to put in a rear pocket and then sit on during the lift.
