Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs large

I really like the fit of my other XL stoic baselayes, (Merino Bliss 150)
I thought it was a safe bet to order an XL in this Alpine Merino Bliss 150 but found the fit to be very baggy and not like the other stoic shirts I own. Maybe sizing down to a Lg size would solve the problem but I don't feel like waisting anymore $ on return shipping.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: Runs small

Fit is great, I'm 6'4 and both the large and Xl were plenty long. Large was tight in the chest (I'm a 43" chest), and Xl was perfect. I was very impressed with the smooth transition between lg and xl sizes, xl had exactly the extra room I needed without adding a bunch of bulk to the cut. 5 stars on fit.

Features on the vest were well thought out, I like the smooth lightweight mesh they chose for the pockets, it keeps them from being bulky and you don't notice them there until you need them. collar is a little bit bulky and extends super high. This would be very useful for blocking wind and you can tuck your cin slightly to block all windflow over neck.

The material on this vest is unique and i'm not so sure about it's utility. It is as soft as a microfleece but has no loft. I was expecting something more along the lines of polartech powerstretch with a smooth side and a lofty side but this material is the same tightwoven (tighter than powerstretch) soft stretchy stuff on both sides. Compared to powerstretch this material is slightly heavier (260 g/m) yet not as warm as it has no loft, it is much more stretchy and blocks wind better than powerstretch while still being breathable.

These are only initial impressions, I deducted one star due to warmth/weight ratio of material.

I have the stoic merino bliss 150 half zip and it fits better than most for my build (6'4", 190 Lb, 43 chest, 34 wast, 34.5 sleeve) though I cant use the thumb-holes b/c my long arms if fits better than anything else I've tried. Does this item have the same cut as the discontinued stoic item?

daniel831wrote a question about on December 9, 2013

My "With Teeth" jacket is busted due to a defective zipper. I purchased this from backcountry.com (whiskymilitia) less than a year ago. Will backcountry process the warranty or should I go through the manufacturer (Homeschool. Also does the lifetime return policy apply to whiskymilitia purchases?

Thanks

I understand that a right zip and a left zip can be combined to make a two person bag. This would be ideal for me and my girlfriend. My question is whether this would work with a long bag combined with a regular bag or would the difference in length be an issue. Thanks for your time.

Anyone who owns this board please state your height/weight, board size, and riding style. Are you happy with the size you purchased? I'm riding a 164 right now at 6'4 185 lbs. I'm thinking about picking up the skunk ape in 161 for quick response on those narrow tree runs. Lemme know what you guys think!
-Thanks

Runs really small, If you have big hands look elsewhere. I am 6'4 180 lb size 12.5 shoe. The XL size mitts were too small for me. My last pair of gloves were from dakine and they fit me fine. These mitts are to short moth in the main finger area and at the thumb. I would return them but with return shipping cost to backcountry.com coming in around 25% of the original cost I'm gonna try to sell them locally
