Familiarity: I've used it several times

Of all the Goretex shells I've owned since the first Gulf War in 1991 (when in righteousness I started bike commuting to work) This is the best. Light, functional and minimalist but with enough features for comfort skiing, hiking or just being out in the western Oregon rain. Pit zips and pocket placement is perfect. Love the cut of the large on my 6'1" 200 lb frame. Comfortable with a fleece or puffy base layer for warmth and very accomodating of movement. Completely water proof in rain and snow. I'd strongly recommend this shell.

I've worn these about 10 times and love them. Great fit that allows layering for comfort from 6 to 32 F so far. Love the full side zips and pocket placement. Prefer the belt to suspenders as the suspenders slip off my shoulders. Absolutely water tight! I'd recommend these highly
