Went on an 8 mile hike in Hawaii across cooled lava to get to the molten stuff. The lava was full of hidden crevices and lava which looks like you can step on it and it cracks like glass. I got cut up pretty bad on both legs (and arms) especially on the return in the dark. Blood soaked both of my shins on the pants. Not one tear on the pants! Washed them and they're like new. Love the fit and the lower pockets but wish the uppers were deeper. Wear them almost everyday. Climbed San G in them a month ago---perfect weight. And by the way, the lava walk was worth every cut!!!

Personally I find Backcountry's "Sale" practices deceptive. I don't think I've ever uncovered an item on sale in my size. Big Banner, "40% Off, Hurry!". It always suckers me in. When I look I'm always disappointed to find that the only item on "sale" is 38x35 or some other obscure size. Put the item on sale or don't.

By the way, these pants are wonderfull. Light, durable, good fit, and comfortable.

I've had to send 2 pair back because the boa lacing system jams after about two weeks. I spoke to someone at boa and she told me that they get clogged with dust and have to be cleaned periodically, "It may help" and told me to go to their website for a tool. Not exactly the response one wants to hear. The result of the jamming is that they are very difficult to get off (and on) once this takes place. I like the concept but boa needs to perfect it before I'd hassle with another pair.
