I am a big guy and I have been looking for a tent at least 54 inch wide. I thought this would be it. Unfortunatly, the floor tapers which reduces the overall internal space. The brow may give it steaper walls but the tapered end makes it cramped. Also the description says two door and two vesties, but it only has one door and one vestibule. The single vestie can be entered from the left or right, but that does not mean it has two door and two vesties. Recommend the Sierra Design Zolo 2 or REI Half Dome 2 plus for big guys without going to a full 3 person tent.

I purchased this bag and the Marmot Couloir. Off the bat, it would seem as though the degree rating may be off. The loft in comparison to the Couloir and other zero degree bags seems low. This is probably explained in the fill weight which is 2-3 oz less than the Couloir and other bags I reviewed (Mountain Hardwear Phantom & Banshee). That may not seem like much, but from comparing both bags it would seem to be a lot. Also, the bag is more then roomy. It is a cave. I felt like I could flip around in the bag (5'11" - 260lb). As someone else noted, I too worry about the excess space and how it would affect the bag’s efficiency. Laying in the bag felt like I was rolled up in a plastic tarp. It was very rough and not as silky at the Couloir. As you can tell, I am returning the Super Spiral Hugger and keeping the Couloir.

Just got the bag yesterday and so far I am a little disappointed. Overall the bag looks great. It has high loft (except collar and draft tube) and great foot box. However, I believe I may have been given an old inventory item or returned bag. Tags are dirty with 2006 date and there is a smell to the bag that seems to be that of an old bag or a slight mildew and there was no stuff sack. I am very disappointed in the draft collar and draft tube along zipper, both of which are flat but may be due to long storage. Bag shape is semi roomy in shoulder with plenty of room in footbox, but hip space is snug in comparison to other Marmot bags (previously owned sawtooth). I will be spending a day cleaning at laundrymat with downwash. If loft in draft/collar tube does not return and if smell remains, then I will be returning.
