I needed a pack for daily usage that was padded for a laptop during the week and could take a beating on the weekend. This bag is perfect. It seems like Patagonia gathered people from all walks of life and sent them out with normal plain jane packs and told them to write notes on what would have been nice to have because they aced this pack. A small top fleece lined zipper pouch which is awesome if you travel as you can stowe it under the plane seat in front of you and still have access to your phone, iPod, etc without making a scene and making the person next to you mad. The front vertical zipper is a great feature as well as it makes things of all shapes and sizes easily accessible. I also liked the straps and all the loops is had to attach carabiners to for additional items if need be. The laptop pouch is perfect in size and still gives ample space for other items as well. As others have mentioned on the weekends loose the backpack and put in a bladder and it has an opening for a water straw for your camelbak. Again, this thing rocks and holds a load of stuff. As an example (because when I read reviews I like stories) I recently went to the UK, in my pack, I packed a laptop, external HD, mouse, cellphone, iPod, phone, wallet, sigg bottle, 6 packs of trail mix, charging cords, binder, pair of jeans, socks, 2 boxers, polo, tshirt, and toiletries... all this and I had no problem getting it under the plane seat in front of me and it was weighted well with the straps that I was not too fatigued at the end of my flights... again, great pack!

I needed a lightweight packable rain jacket to throw in my pack for my morning commutes in downtown London. This jacket was just what I needed. I am about 6 foot 200 lbs with a longer torso and the large was a perfect fit. It seemed to be close fitting around the mid section which I also liked instead of a lot of bulk and wasted material. As others have mentioned, it stops around the waist area so it does not shield water away from your legs like a longer jacket would do, but I needed it to be light, small when packed in my bag and nice looking when wearing... it was all that. It performed fantasitic in the rain as well. Kept me dry while looking tidy. This is my first purchase of the Helly Hansen brand, but I will now be considering their products when looking for other jackets and outdoor garb.
