Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's a decent helmet, very basic. I bought it because it was the cheapest one at pro-shop after I forgot my R.E.D helmet before a trip.
PROS: good venting, goggles fit, warm (ridden -35C without a beanie underneath), ear pads are detachable, can take speakers in the ear pads. *Cheap & protects your head*
CONS: shell is huge. definitely makes you look and feel like a bobble head. no vent controls. Shell scratches easily (vs. RED i've gone through less trees with this one and it has more scratches and chips)
VERDICT: if I could do it again, I'd consider buying another Smith but probably seek out their more sculpted lines that don't emphasize a bobble head feel/look and have vent controls.

I reviewed goggles for about 2 years before taking the plunge on these. Best decision made. The 2 lenses it comes with ensure that you can ride in any condition. Yesterday these were tested riding Cypress. Rain, fog, snow, more fog, warm, cold, and huge bails into powder = did not fog once. Very pleased with my purchase. Not the trendiest / coolest .. but made for those who hit the slopes to ride regardless of the conditions. Super comfortable and helmet compatible.
*note* replacement lenses are expensive vs anon, etc. If you're rough on your goggles it may be something you may want to consider.
