First Stoic purchase and I am pretty happy. This is a pretty awesome jacket. Nice fill of insulation, not too puffy, but still warm. This is replacing an old TNF Nuptse and I was looking for something less puffy, a little less warm, and a hood.
Hood is large (helmet compatible) and has nice cinch points. Fit is athletic. I am 6' and 210 lbs with broad shoulders and bought a large. Fits perfect. Also, the stitching on the jacket is pretty cool.
My only concern is the thinness of the material and the stitching. The stitching is already fraying in places (have had it for a month), but nothing serious yet. The material is thin (and very light), so I wouldn't wear it skiing. I would be afraid of snagging it.
I paid $75 on SAC which is a great deal. Very comparable to Mountain Hardware and Patagonia synthetic insulated jackets, which usually run around $200.
