Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The first time I wore them was for the Diva Dash. It was wonderful to have the knee coverage crawling under the obstacals (who knew that yoga pants are great for running, climbing and crawling). They washed up and looked like new-no snags! True to fit since there is a slight shrinkage after the first washing, but the fabric does stretch. What a nice surprise to cut the length!

Merrell Moab Ventilator

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is the third pair of Moabs that I have gotten. This is the only shoe I wear for hiking, even the fourteeners. I have the Merrell water proof version for winter hikes in the snow. Love 'em!! Best shoe for foot issues, even after bunion surgery, I can hike 13 miles in a day in the Rockies!

These are the best mittens that I've worn. There is room to wear hand warmers for those really cold days speeding down the slopes. No cold air gets in with the long cuffs and they are "easy on & easy off".

At first I was a bit disappointed with the gloves. My hands get cold very easily and these were rated very well. When I started the Romp Stomp in Frisco (a snowshoe event for Breast Cancer) the temps were 8 degrees. My hands were getting cold, so I pulled out the hand warmers, put them on the back of my hands inside the gloves. Within a minute my fingers even warmed up!! These gloves would not work for downhill skiing for me.

These were a Christmas present for my daughter, we ordered them on line while talking on the phone as I was checking availability. She is a part time snowboard instructor at Purgatory (Durango Mnt Resort). The snowboard shop could not get this boot, so she was excited to hear backcountry.com had her boots. She was very impressed with the speed of delivery, regular shipping arrived in 3 days. They give her the support she needs, are very light weight and the best snowboard boots she's had. Thanks for making her happy and her "kids" in her classes happy!

I'm glad I read the reviews, I usually wear a small, ordered the medium, perfect fit! It does not feel like wool at all, very soft, light weight material. It is not heavy like a thermal layer, better for the base layer or days that it's not real cold. I had it on for hiking and will use it as a base layer for backcountry skiing.

I bought this jacket for my daughter for Christmas. She goes to school in Wyoming and wanted something very warm & somewhat fashionable. She loves the fit, fitted at the waist, fits ligh hip. The sleeves are great with a long inside fitted sleeve and an outside sleeve to cover gloves. She's 5'4 120lbs and the small fits very well.
