Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I purchased this watch to be able to track my hikes and outings more accuratly. The product I received was better than expected. I spent many hours researching this watch and I couldn't be more pleased with my investment. The start up is super easy and the options can be navigated with ease.
Took this watch out for the first time on a 14 mile hike with just under 4000ft elevation gain. The bread crumb tracking is absolutely amazing. Even when hitting areas where the GPS signal is temporarily lost, the watch continues to track and route as you go. The interactive videos that can be created are amazing and bring your adventures to life.
The battery life last for the entire outing which was about 9 hours, in GPS and bread crumb tracking. When we reached the truck, we still have 1/4 of life left. The battery charges quickly and the battery life did great.
The display is very readable - even in sunlight. You can toggle through altitude, time, elevation gains/loses, date, and weather updates with ease.
This watch does have a larger display screen but looks good on your wrist even for style. So far, the battery in watch mode does last a little past the 14 day limit.
The one thing I would encourage Suunto to consider changing is the barometer readings. The sensor sits right about your wrist on the side/bottom of the watch. I have found often times, the temperature outside is colder than what the watch is reading and I imagine if wearing a long sleeve, this information may not be accurate either. However, this is not enough to really pull away from the amazing feature this watch offers. Simply put, this watch does it all and you can't go wrong.
