I got these for my husband to use for paddle boarding & he loves them. They are great for protecting your feet in the waters of Hawaii & the lakes of Utah. He doesn't use them for very long treks, just mostly in the water & shoreline. Great traction for paddle boarding too.
I bought the SARs & the Canyoneer 2 for my husband to pick from & he chose the Five Ten Canyoneer 2 because of the very hard reinforced toe box. He felt that it wouldn't be as efficient as the Canyoneer 2 for climbing when you need to get your foot in a small crevice. These boots are very well made though.
These booties run small. Order at least a whole size bigger. I had to return the ones I ordered, so I can't say how well they worked for the lava filled waters of the Big Island. They seemed very well made & like the bottoms would supply lots of traction from the feel of them. Leavin' for Hawaii in 2 days so I couldn't get them exchanged in time.
