Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great jacket. I bought it as a fall-back shelter for prolonged outdoor adventures or for days when I'm out in the weather all day for work or play. I bought an XL, bigger than my normal L, to fit over the other layers I would be wearing.

It is too warm for hiking or climbing, but works well for camp, belay, or delays on the trail.

After two winter seasons of use I found it to be plenty durable; use normal cautions when wearing.

The other day at work I was stuck out in sub 20 degree weather for an entire day. At the end of the day when I was exausted and chilled, I put it on and powered through to the end, cosy and warm.

The jacket covers me to below my butt, has a great hood, and the arms are plenty long. Good use of down--no cold spots for me.

I would recomment it to a friend.

Great rap gloves. I use these for canyoneering, for belaying when sport climbing. They are well made and durable--the double thickness leather in the palm, thumb, and index finger area works well. I love the carabiner hole in the wrist portion and carry them on my harness when needed. I normally wear a size L glove and these, size L, are a tiny bit big on me which I don't mind at all.

This rope has performed very well so far. Tough and longlasting as promised. This Spring I used the C-IV 9mm with small groups on two trips to Moab, Utah. After four canyons (including a 160 foot rappel in Rock Of Ages Canyon) with multiple raps in each canyon (times four people), the rope still looks great. A little fuzz here and there from pulling the rope over the sandstone, but otherwise, it looks great. We all used a Pirana rappel device--great kit, especially for the heavier (190 pound) climbers.

The C-IV is lightweight and knots well--great static line. I'm going to buy a 120 footer to supplement my two 200 footers and I'll buy the C-IV again. I'm completely happy with this rope.
