Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These skins disappointed me from the first time I used them on a cold day. Much of the glue came off the skins when I took them off the skis the very first time. They don't climb as good on steep slopes as other skins I have used and I have been touring for over 10 years so it's not my technique. And today, on a 10 degree day, I went to take off my one skin and both plastic toe clips broke off with a regular pull. The glue gets gummy, sticky, and messy over time and I would never buy these again. They stick great but are a bear to get off the skis while still in your skis. I am sending them back pronto. I used to ski with old school Life Link skins and never had as many problems as I have had with these. Maybe I just got a crappy pair, but I will always buy black diamond brand after this like I do for everything else I enjoy in the outdoors. I have nothing against G3 as a company but this was my honest experience.
