Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
So i've got about a two solid winters using this for mostly backcountry splitboard missions in the Sierra Nevada range. It performs great as a belay, base camp jacket mostly as I find it too warm to use while doing anything active. However on a trip to Pico Orizaba in Mexico last fall, my riding partner and I got caught in temps around -5 degrees and winds gusting 20-30 mph near the summit. This jacket was the perfect warmth for me to keep moving and not over heat. It felt pretty awesome being in such bad weather and feeling completely protected from the cold. As for the fit, Im 5'11" 170lbs and order a medium. It's still large enough to throw it over my shell, mid and base layers. Definitely one of my favorite pieces or gear.
