perfect for what i was looking for: a light, tight, comfortable second layer
Not much to add to Steve Jones' comments. Well made, nice material, good weight for keeping the chill off, but not too warm. One problem with them, and this is more of a joke than a serious problem. They are so stretchy that if you get your toe caught putting them on, it can be hard to get your foot unstuck.
wished you'd had my size, looked, and felt very warm and supple, cool, but no, an 11 wouldn't do, 12 might have worked
it's fine, looks like it'll do the job, small, light, it works. Can't stop a real thief, but should keep the honest people honest.
would these fit a wider foot?
I think we need to bug Backcountry into getting in a shipment, as they seem to be out. I need a couple pairs also.
good grief, no dimensions?
often wondered if it's better to get an avalung that's not part of a pack, since one might for different occaisions want to use a different pack?
i'm old, and have had way too much fun, and abused my hands i guess just a little too much. (the small veins in the hands die off and do not regenerate! -- yeah, this is a WARNING!) 3-5 days/yr it's smart to wear mittens! the rest of the time they're fine. my mittens have a pile lining which wicks the moisture away from the hands, after i've had em off for some reason or other! wish the guide gloves had the same kind of liner!
i have a 7 1/2 lb. Dana Design summer pack. Too heavy? Yeah, I'd say so, but somehow, it makes the rest of the weight, weightless!
The point being that it's not simple math.
looking for an alpine boot with walk mood for occaisional backcountry trips, think that's what i got. done a little skinning with them, perfect, look like they'll be just fine on the downhill as well, but have to wait till next winter to see for sure.
how does it work out buying a boot online? rather than from a shop that fits it for you?
just bought the rho lt: warm, warm, warm, but? is it likely to shrink? worn it four days in a row, need to wash it, dare I put it in the washer? or should I woolight it? if it shrinks at all, it'll join all the others in my closet that are worthless!!! what a waste that'd be! it's perfect right now, but if shrunk, would be worthless.
well, gee, guess we're all looking for that, ehh?sure, try the scarpa mountaineering boots: closest I've found to that dream.
