Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wear an 8/10 and got these in a 10. They fit great! I wore them around for the day and then went climbing at night. I didn't notice them at all, which means they're perfect (they stretch) for climbing and cute too! I got the blue and they're slightly more blue than jeans, a great shade!

I'm looking for a stand-alone outer layer with maybe a fleece layer underneath for winter backpacking (down to about 10*). I want to stay warm while hiking and while sitting at camp (I tend to get cold sort of easy). Would the ultralight down parka or the alpine light parka be better for this kind of use? Is one warmer than the other? I wish they had EN type rating for jackets....

This is my perfect pack. I used it for a 5 day winter grand canyon hike and it was a dream. My friend injured herself day 1, so I ended up hauling a lot of extra weight and this pack handled the heavy weight without becoming uncomfortable. I love all the little extras on this pack: the adjustable harness, the external hydration system (I used to have to unload my entire old pack to refill... ugh), the built-in rain cover, the number of pockets. I just love it! My only complaint is the side pockets are a bit too small for a 1 L nalgene (it fits, but tends to fall out, even with the compression straps), which I only carry in winter anyways. This is my new go-to pack. I just bought the 38L version for any shorter trips.

Really expected these pants to be too tight, too low, and a return. To my surprise they are PERFECT! When they arrived I knew they were going to be too close fitting, wrong! They fit like a dream. I can do a full squat and stretch completely without any tugging or pulling (especially in the knees or butt area). The belt is a nice touch too and is really easy to adjust and open/close. They are very well fitted and not baggy, like my ex officio bugsaway pants are. The rise is about mid-rise, not high rise like the bugsaway pants. I've tried on so many convertible pants trying to find the right one, these are it! I just bought another pair in case they are discontinued any time in the near future!
