I spend most of my nights in the backcountry in a hammock. And if you've ever camped in a hammock you know it can get chilly even when the weather is mild. For this reason, I bought this sleeping bag. I think I made the right choice. Now, I've only used it on one trip, but it was a cold and wet night, and I was very pleased. I decided to not use my sleeping pad in the hammock, and this bag kept me comfortable and warm all night. It's very soft and surprisingly lightweight. (Surprising to me because I've never owned a down sleeping bag.) I'm not a fan of the stuff sack that comes with it because it has three straps instead of four. I found that to be odd, but maybe that's the norm for North Face? I think it could stuff further, but I wouldn't want to risk ruining the loft by overstuffing it for a long trip. It's so lofty!!
I haven't taken this bag to the extremes, and I probably never will, but for my purposes I am very pleased. If the worst this I have to say about it is I am confused by the stuff sack, then how bad can it be?
