It should fit on any fischer cross country ski. It's designed for the narrow fischer race series skis (SCS, RCR, RCS), but it should fit on others as well. Make sure your boots are designed for NNN bindings, not SNS bindings. Fischer used to make bindings that fit SNS boots, but they changed in the last few years to the NNN system. Salomon and the new Atomic boots are SNS. Alpina, Rossignol, and a few others are NNN.

No. I would stick with the cheap stuff and focus on waxing it at least every other time out. The difference between the two has been debated to begin with. Given your interest in skate skiing, get yourself a good bronze brush and nylon brush and focus on brushing you skis throughly. You'll notice a bigger difference doing this than you will using an LF wax.
