Brian's Bio

I was not raised to the outdoors but found the passion while in college. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, camping with my family, climbing, mountaineering. Although the later are a little difficult with my family I still manage to get out and do some climbing with friends. I am sure like many I wish I had more time to climb and be in the mountains.

I needed an in-between pack for short mountain excursions. I love this pack so far 2 weeks into it. lightweight with heavy hauling power. climbing gear, rope, bivy, bag, all fit nicely with plenty of room to spare. The fit was perfect with adjustability. hiked, climbed great over 19 hours, 14000 ft and 25 miles my shoulders were no worse the wear. stayed tight while climbing, boulder hopping and traverses. I look forward to using pack more and more.

Great jacket. My first experience with the jacket a one night/day summit attempt on Granite Peak in MT. lightweight doe not even begin to describe the jacket. "Wind resistant" I would say more like "windproof" we had some sustained winds on 30-40 mph and gusts higher and I felt little of it. I look forward to many more adventures in this jacket. I am sure for a steady rain or in a wetter environment would not be my first choice but for lightweight in the mountains, awesome.

I only had the shoe for about 1 week. I wore it daily for 3 days to break it in which really was not necessary. They fit and wore great right out of the box. The traction on the trail was great dry rocks, wet rocks no slipping. High boulder hopping was fine as well. The problem however was constant lack of lateral support. I probably turned both ankles 10-12 times, not an exaggeration while back and forth on approach. I became disgusted because I really liked the shoe but found the constant twisting of my ankles too much too take so I return them this week.
