Finding a ski jacket for my daughter is somewhat challenging. I need it to be warm and functional; she only wants it in blue and girly looking. After considering many options, I decided to buy the Columbia Check Point Jacket in Skybox. During our ski vacation in Whistler Mt., the jacket kept her warm and allowed her a wide range of maneuverability. I had no problem finding her on the slopes, the color of the jacket made her stand out among the other kids. It was the best buy in every aspect.

I purchased this jacket in Red and size Large for my husband who is 5’9”, 180 lbs, 42” chest, and 34” sleeve. The sleeves of the jacket first appear to be so long that I almost wanted to return it. After my husband tried it, he liked it and decided to keep it. He wore it during our vacation in Whistler this month and it worth every penny. The appeared-to-be-too-long sleeves actually overlapping perfectly when he wore the ski gloves and his wrists were covered at all time. The functionality and workmanship of the jacket are excellent. I want a jacket to work for the sport as well as an everyday outerwear and the insulated powder bowl jacket from Patagonia delivers both.

I began my search of a ski jacket in November for my trip to Whistler around Christmas time this year. I’m an amateur skier, ski jacket to me is more than functional…it also has to be fashionable. After an extensive research among all the reputable brands, I purchased the Obermeyer Lexington jacket in black, and I love it. It is not only warm, functional, it is stylish, and do not make me look like a bulky on the slope. The hood is roomy and it can accommodate if you decide to wear helmet; the only glitch is that the adjustable pull string on the hood of my jacket broke on the fist pull, so I was not able to use the hood much because it covers down half of my face without the adjustment and block the vision when I ski. But I think it’s an easy repair and I will not hold back all the good things I love about this jacket.
