First - sales guy on phone was awesome. Second - I work as a welder on a roof and spend my days on the roof or on the scaffold. my everyday carry work bag carries a lot of stuff and takes a beating. This bag is awesome. it's big enough for hard hat, extra clothes, food, water bottle, hand tools, safety gear, etc - and the waist straps make carrying that load SO much easier! also keeps it close to my body for climbing through doors on scaffolding ladders. The bag still looks new after a month of daily use. I have no reason to believe this bag won't last a good long time. keeps stuff inside pretty dry even in heavy rain. just used it as an overnight bag and was great for that, too. if you are looking for a big heavy duty bag that's comfortable to carry long distances (like my walk to and from metro every day, or over scaffolding, etc...) - buy this bag - it's awesome! the minimal degree of structural support is also a great compromise between a bag with serious structure and a bag with no structure. helps just enough with weird pokey loads and keeping the bag where it belongs in the center of your back.
