I wore these on our month long Israel trip. I wore them in and out of water, hiking, kayaking, to a wedding, climbing and descending steep, sandy river paths and even shooting an m-4 flat top.
The highlight was when I ran down Masada, a 1500' mountain with pitches between 8-12%, with loose gravel/sand/uneven stairs and rocks of all sizes in the path. These shoes STUCK like they had cleats. After a month in the desert, they look and smell new.

Durable, well made, crazy grip, substantial-but not too heavy AND SO comfortable you will not want to take them off.
I hated Flip Flops until I bought these. Now, in wear them all day long, unless I need a shoe (Chaco Paradox) or water sandal (Teva Terra Fi).

I can't wait to wear these after a bike ride.

I've had lots of water shoes/sandals. These are the best. The problem with closed toe sandals/water shoes is the protection is increased, but sand and stones/shells get in no matter what- on my Columbia water shoes, Teva Wraptors, New Balance 921's and Keen h2o newports-same thing. Once the junk is in it doesn't go anywhere. On these Teva's, the junk gets in and the water quickly washes it out. I never have to take them off to clear pebbles or sand.
They are very comfortable. They are very sure footed. I was able to carry my 45lb. son down a steep trail with loose gravel and sand and didn't slip at all.
