Old School/New School Balance.

The style of ths sweater is really top notch. I love the old school alpine design with the new twist of the hand pockets and hood. Makes this a classic that will fetch compliments from your grandparents and your kids' friends.

Heavy weight, wear as a mid- or heavy jacket. The idea of facing the 100% wool shell with the no-itch fleece interior is excellent. The wood collar ends on the hood and waist adjustment strings add a quality old world touch. This will get some wear this winter, I can tell already!

Suggestions to get that 5-star rating:
1. Move the hand pockets back to the sides a little. They are so far forward that there isn't enough room for a full size pocket. I don't have huge hands, but I can only bury them up to the wrist and no further.

2. At the underarm, replace the fleece lining with something thinner. The wool shell is already fairly thick, and adding the fleece makes the sweater bind just a bit under the arms. It's not severe, but it does feel a bit like you have a mitten stuffed under each arm. This isn't an area where you need the extra warmth, so why not go for a thinner insert right there? It would help the sleeve fall about 1/2" longer and. hey....see my sizing comments below.

Sizing: I'm 6'2", 175 lbs. 43" chest, 31" waist, 34/35" sleeve size. I ordered a large. The chest is actually slightly snug, the waist has plenty of room but is not baggy. The sleeves come right to the wrist, but don't rest on the base of my thumbs. I would have loved another 1/2" to 1" there ideally, but the length is workable. Since there is no elastic wrist cuff, my baselayer sticks out slightly but doesn't look strange.

Overall: High quality item, and I'm very happy with it.

Merino is king. I've been a fan of Buff gaiters for years, and finally opted for the wool. This thing is great weight for our Midwest winters, clearing snow, even hiking.

I saw a couple of complaints about the buff losing shape, though it sounds like it may be primarily when used as a face mask. I've only used as a neck gaiter, and I have had no issues. In combination with a wool baclava it's the perfect base layer for above the shoulders.

If Clark Griswold's cousin Eddie had opted for this instead of that black dickie and white sweater combination, how different our world might be. He would have at least been outside helping him with those lights. Th' house shur looks niiiice, Clark.

I'll risk piling on another 5 star review for this jacket, I love this thing. "Semi-fitted" is the perfect description for the fit. I'm 6'2", 178 lbs. Chest 43", waist 32", sleeve length 35". Large fits me perfectly.
Love that the sleeves are long enough, the body of the hoodie isn't too bulky, and I'm a big fan of the adjusters on the hood string. The jacket avoids one of the most annoying characteristics about a hoodie, where the weight of the hood tends to pull the front of the jacket up after wearing it a while--especially if not zipped all the way up. On this piece the front part of the hood counterweights the back of the hood well and it stays put so I'm not constantly tugging it forward.

The BC branding on the jacket is great and helps dress it up just enough, and the stitched goats at the shoulder and hem are a great add.

Not a gripe, but simply a suggestion for future versions: I slight fleece nap on the outside would help prevent snags a little better than the standard finish here. Could be an issue over time, because I know already this hoodie is going to get a lot of use. Also, more colors, please! As long as the genie is out of the bottle, an athletic cut version might leave nothing to be improved upon.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs small

I love Icebreaker, especially their more fit items. This jackets is very warm, a nice heavy weight fleece. The fleece napping is on the inside, which makes it even warmer by trapping air inside.

I'm returning the jacket because it runs short--especially the sleeves. The cut is also really boxy and square-ish. Not the fit I've come to expect from IB, but perhaps that fits someone else.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs large

I ordered this shirt after ordering a very similar goat tee and loving it. I am sooooo disappointed with the fit! Where is the QC?
I ordered a large, and you could fit a volleyball through the neck hole without stretching it. The body of the shirt fits somewhere between XL and XXL. So this shirt is for you if:
1. You have a head like a melon
2. You have a body that resembles a beer keg with arms
Come to think of it, BC should offer this in yellow with a black zig-zag stripe...apologies to Charles Schulz.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

I have owned a lot of wool blend socks from various manufacturers, and these are my favorite. They are quality throughout, I love them for any day that is 70 degrees or less. After running these through the wringer, they hold up as well as any I've owned. The knit (warp and woof?) just seems to be tighter or more compact without contributing to bulk. I would definitely buy again, and I even sneak in the black color for the office on casual Fridays.

Merino wool is where it's at. I have the Quantum vest, which has a little more fitted cut than this hoodie. Still athletic, but without showing your nips to the world. The monkey thumbs on the sleeves are probably good if you have a 33"-34" sleeve. I'm 6"2', 185 lbs, 43" chest and 33" waist. The large fits me perfectly. I have 35" arms, so I just don't use the thumbholes.
This item is my new go-to midlayer, now I'm looking forward to Fall and Winter.

This is a perfect vest, sized just right for either midlayering or over a shirt. Note that the size runs on the snug side. I have a 43" chest, and got the large. I would call the fit "snug", but would probably be "compression" if it was an inch smaller. Love the athletic cut and the reflective stripes on the front.

What a great midweight sweater. Wear by itself or under a softshell, it's not too bulky or thin. The quality of the merino knit is great, and the fit even better. I would call it a little more "modern fit" than "relaxed", but it is not snug. I'm 6'2", 195 lbs. and the large fits great. I usually have trouble with sleeve length (35" in a dress shirt), but the sleeves on the sweater are perfect. Just ordered my second.
