I've tried to avoid a helmet for years and finally gave in. I bought this helmet two years ago, outfitted it with the drop-in speakers, and fell in love. It's warm and the speaker setup with the Skull Candy drop-ins makes skiing even more fun. The vents are great on those extra warm days, and the chin-strap padding is a nice feature. I also bought Smith goggles, and the integration and fit between the two rocks!
I'm going to echo everybody else's comments (from other sites) here: these shoes just aren't durable. They're the most comfortable shoe I've owned, so I plan to buy another pair. My first pair wore out after about 2 months. I still wear them, but the rubber sole is falling apart and there's nearly no support now. That said, they're still incredibly comfortable (after they break in), and I plan to buy another pair, just wish they'd last longer.
I'm 5'8, 175 with short legs and ended up going with a Small. This was primarily due to the local ski shop selling these 50% off because they didn't want to carry them anymore, and the store being out of Mediums (my buddy bought the last 3 they had). That said, the small seems to fit well, just quite snug. I have an athletic build, but strong legs for my small size. The Small makes the knee supports land dead on my kneecaps, and even though they're snug, I think Small was the best choice for me.
In typical Arc'teryk fashion, the quality of this jacket is phenomenal. It's the little things that make this jacket so incredible. The hood doesn't have a way to hide it away, but the design of the fabric hold the hood down and back in the perfect location. The high-mounted front pockets are huge and give plenty of room for a front pack.
Many people ask about the insulation -- it's barely a fuzz. I wouldn't call it insulation in any way -- it's a typical hard shell. The only thing it's good for it being soft against your skin if you're in a t-shirt.
This is a great multi-use jacket, from the ski slopes to hiking. It's my new go to ski jacket and is the highest quality jacket I've owned in a long time.
My only complaint would be no mesh on the pit zippers, but a good inner layer should protect against small amounts of snow.
