Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shoes kill! The only knock I can come up with (and this is for the real nitpickers) is that the heel has a little dead spot, no matter how tight you size them. The great thing is you do not have to size them too tight for performance. See the full review here: http://verticali-culture.blogspot.com/2011/06/five-ten-quantum-review.html
I cannot recommend these shoes strongly enough. For an American-made produce (if that matters to you) these are as good as it gets!

i love these shoes. for me they are a somewhat miraculous blend of super-high performance and comfort. pockets, face, even slab are all subject to the whims of the miura. the vibram rubber is sticky and has held an edge well over 4 months of use 2-3x per week, the area under the big toes is just now beginning to wear back. the most surprising part of this shoe is its comfort. note on sizing: i wear between a 9-9.5 street shoe and i like my climbing shoes tight. i ended up getting the miura's in a 39 US Sized down this amount I comfortably wore the Miura's for a 4-pitch climb throughout which they maintained their precision. also, the lacing system allows them to be easily tied and untied at belay stations, for example, which adds positively to the overall experience of the shoe. Downsides: not many, first and foremost, price; secondly, they are not the best crack shoes out there and are probably overkill for a lot of climbing. overall: 5 out of 5 and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a shoe that can handle almost anything and do so in relative comfort.
