2003 models. 177 cm; I am 5'7"; 175lbs; Good skier, used to ski a ton, ski less now because I am working for the man.
I just tried out my new Bandit Xs at J-Hole and Grand Targhee, and I must say I was quite impressed. They pretty much handled everything I threw at them. They took a little adjustment, especially in the moguls, but that may be due in part to my prior refusal to cave to the shaped/shorter ski revolution (this is my first pair of shaped skis). I actually ended up rather liking them in the moguls. They handled a big powder day at Targhee quite well (they float pretty well). They handled the steeps well. I was very happy with how they plowed through the crud. They especially excel on the groomed runs (held a great edge, even on harder packed/icy snow, very stable, and fast, yet you are able to throw down short, lively turns at a moments notice.)
If you want a ski that is fast and stable, when you ski with your hair on fire, lively and quick when you throw down short turns, happy to oblige when you feel like a mogul field, and ready and willing to go just about anywhere else your little heart desires...this is an excellent choice. The only reason I hesitate to give it a five is that I did not try any other similar skis.
